Chapter 16

Lily

I look up as Seth walks into the bedroom, kicking the door shut behind him. He’s flicking through a handful of photographs, his eyes darting this way and that as he quickly scans them all.

“Here.” He throws them down onto the bed. “Check these out.”

I watch as they splay out over the dark red sheets. Pictures of me and him. Having sex. On a Harley.

“Stevie was right,” Seth whispers, nuzzling my neck as he sits behind me, pulling me back between his legs, gently pushing my hair away from my shoulder. “We do look hot when we’re fucking.”

I pick up one of the photographs, cocking my head as I stare down at it. My back’s arched, my arms up above my head; Seth’s hands are holding tightly onto mine, my legs spread either side of the wide leather seat as he fucks me.

“Yeah. I guess we do.” I put the photograph back with the rest of them, turning my head slightly to face him. “These are going to remain private, aren’t they?”

He pauses for a second or two, and I’m hoping he hasn’t sensed the tiny hint of panic I’ve tried – and failed – to hide from my voice. “For our eyes only, darlin’, I promise you.”

I hold his gaze. I really don’t want to give him any reason to ask questions. “OK.”

I get up, dropping the short, thin robe I’d been wearing as I walk over to the dressing table. I know exactly what I’m doing – what I have to do. I’m calling the shots again, while I still can, because I can feel any power I might have left slipping away, bit by bit, the more time I spend with this man. And maybe I should’ve walked away sooner, listened to my gut, not come here with him, it was a mistake. But it was mine to make. My bad, no-one else’s.

“Jesus, Lily…” Seth groans, almost launching himself up off the bed, gently grabbing my hips from behind, and I put up no fight. Why would I? I want this. I want him. God help me…

I stare at our reflection in the mirror, watch as his hands stroke the curve of my waist, his mouth back on my neck. “Baby, you got me walking around with a permanent hard-on here.”

“Then do something about it,” I murmur, my eyes still fixed on his fingers as they move down to my thighs. And he doesn’t have to be asked twice, he’s pushed me forward before I’ve got the last of my words out and I grab on to the edge of the marble counter, still watching as it all plays out in the mirror like some weird, twisted TV sex scene.

Seth’s knee gently nudges my legs apart, his hands back on my hips, and I breathe in deep, just waiting for that second when he invades my body once more. When he takes another piece of me, because I’m allowing him to do that. I’m letting it happen, because I want it this way.
